Early Years Pupil Premium
From April 2015, Early Years @ Highfield Daycare has been able to claim extra funding through the Early Years Pupil Premium with the aim to support children's development, learning and care. The Early Years Pupil Premium has provided Early Years children (if eligible) with extra funding to close their educational gap.
The Early Years Pupil Premium provides an extra £300 per year for three and four year old children whose parents are in receipt of certain benefits or who were formally in local authority care but who left care because they were adopted or were subject to a special guardianship or child arrangements order. This corresponds to £25 per month for each child taking up the full 15 hours per week of funded entitlement to early education.
We review our EYPP provision each September and April and our setting speaks to parents individually regarding early years pupil premium.
Early Years Pupil Premium and Registration Form
Dear Parents/Carers – can you help?
In April, £50 million nationally will be allocated to Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) for our 3-4 year olds. This means schools will be able to use an extra £300 per year for our children who are eligible – looked after children, adopted children, special guardianship children, children subject to a child arrangement order and those children in families where the joint income is below £16,190 per year will be able to claim the EYPP including those families in receipt of:
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance.
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance.
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
- Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit.
- Child Tax Credit.
- Working Tax Credit.
School will be held in account for the spending of this money but ultimately it’s up to our school to decide how to best use the money. Registering could raise money for your child to fund valuable support like additional teaching staff. The money follows the child and it will be same in all settings.
