Eligibility and Flexibility

Sunbeams Pre-school will open 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday 50 weeks a year (closed for 2 weeks at Christmas and 3 professional training days for Staff in addition to this over the year.)

We offer 15 hours of funded entitlement for all 3 and 4 year olds and 15 hours of funded care for eligible two year olds.  We offer 30 places per session and staffing is matched to the numbers of 2 year-olds or 3 and 4 year-olds, ensuring quality care by providing a high ratio of staff to children and compliance with EYFS requirements.   Small group times and close key person relationships provide each child with a safe and secure attachment relationship from the very start. This hallmark of our nurturing ethos links directly to outstanding outcomes for all children and parental engagement in children’s learning and development.

Under the Child Care Act 2016 we offer 30 hours of funded care and education over 38 weeks for qualifying children.  Our admissions policy gives preference to funded 2 year-olds in every session, by allocating 4 places for funded 2 year-olds to ensure that there is availability for new funded 2 year old children to access our childcare after January and Easter.  Children will be admitted in date of birth order for the universal 15 hours entitlement and then on a first come first serve basis (subject to suitable sessions being available) for the additional 15 hours entitlement once a code has been received.

We provide the 30 hours funded entitlement only after all children presenting on our application list, have been offered a place for 15 hours universal funded childcare. The funded entitlement is offered in various ways to suit parental choice, in between the hours of 8am and 6pm; see table overleaf.  -

If you require session times which are not listed, please do call us to discuss what you may need.
